# Xfinity vs Xcel Energy

The clearest difference is monetization model: Xcel Energy at free against Xfinity's free with in-app purchases. Xcel Energy also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (17% vs 9%). Xfinity's advantage is ratings volume (1.4M vs 4.1K) and chart position (#12 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Xcel Energy holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xfinity has 1.4M ratings behind it against 4.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 9% of Xfinity's written reviews are positive against 17% of Xcel Energy's.

Xfinity ships an update fortnightly, Xcel Energy every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
