# Focus Dog vs Focus Pet

The clearest difference is ads: Focus Dog at none against Focus Pet's shown. Focus Dog also leads on ratings volume (915 vs 3). Focus Pet's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Dog sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Focus Pet sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Pet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Dog has 915 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Focus Dog's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Pet's.

Focus Dog ships an update fortnightly, Focus Pet every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
