# Reader vs Email Finder

The clearest difference is rating: Reader at 5.0 against Email Finder's 4.2. Reader also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). Email Finder's advantage is ratings volume (302 vs 3) and review sentiment (79% vs 57%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Email Finder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Email Finder has 302 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Reader's written reviews are positive against 79% of Email Finder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Reader ships an update weekly, Email Finder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
