# Valley ICON vs FieldNET

The clearest difference is rating: Valley ICON at 5.0 against FieldNET's 3.0. Valley ICON also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). FieldNET's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (50 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Valley ICON holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FieldNET has 50 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Valley ICON ships an update every 5 months, FieldNET fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
