# MuchBetter vs SoloBooks

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SoloBooks at 100% against MuchBetter's 29%. MuchBetter's advantage is price (Free vs $0.99) and rating (4.5 vs 4.0). On ads, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

MuchBetter is free to download; SoloBooks costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MuchBetter holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MuchBetter has 396 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of MuchBetter's written reviews are positive against 100% of SoloBooks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MuchBetter ships an update every 6 weeks, SoloBooks every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
