# GPSLive vs TruviewGPS

GPSLive and TruviewGPS both sit at 4.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of TruviewGPS's written reviews are positive against 43% of GPSLive's. GPSLive's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 22 months) and ratings volume (24 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for GPSLive against 4.0 for TruviewGPS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPSLive has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of GPSLive's written reviews are positive against 100% of TruviewGPS's.

GPSLive ships an update monthly, TruviewGPS every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
