# ANTON vs Mathmax

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mathmax at none against ANTON's 7. Mathmax also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). ANTON's advantage is ratings volume (7K vs 2) and review sentiment (93% vs 82%). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ANTON sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per year. Mathmax asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mathmax holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ANTON has 7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of ANTON's written reviews are positive against 82% of Mathmax's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ANTON ships an update every 2 months, Mathmax every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
