# FaceApp vs OVF Editor

The clearest difference is ads: FaceApp at none against OVF Editor's shown. FaceApp also leads on ratings volume (1.8M vs 48K) and review sentiment (47% vs 30%). OVF Editor's advantage is iOS requirement (15 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FaceApp sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month and OVF Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for FaceApp against 4.7 for OVF Editor. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FaceApp has 1.8M ratings behind it against 48K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of FaceApp's written reviews are positive against 30% of OVF Editor's.

FaceApp ships an update every 2 weeks, OVF Editor every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
