# Flip Clock vs Clock Widget

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Flip Clock at 71K against Clock Widget's 53. Flip Clock also leads on review sentiment (72% vs 57%). Clock Widget's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flip Clock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Clock Widget sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Flip Clock against 4.6 for Clock Widget. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flip Clock has 71K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Flip Clock's written reviews are positive against 57% of Clock Widget's.

Flip Clock ships an update monthly, Clock Widget fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
