# Smart PDF Document Scanner vs NotaryAssist

The clearest difference is rating: NotaryAssist at 4.9 against Smart PDF Document Scanner's 4.4. NotaryAssist also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NotaryAssist holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotaryAssist has 215 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Smart PDF Document Scanner's written reviews are positive against 96% of NotaryAssist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Smart PDF Document Scanner ships an update every 6 months, NotaryAssist monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
