# MAGIC vs Proteus POS

The clearest difference is rating: Proteus POS at 5.0 against MAGIC's 2.3. MAGIC's advantage is ratings volume (277 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Proteus POS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MAGIC has 277 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
