# IT Professionals Training vs CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep

The clearest difference is review sentiment: IT Professionals Training at 83% against CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep's 31%. CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IT Professionals Training sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $44.99 per year and CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep has 2.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of IT Professionals Training's written reviews are positive against 31% of CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IT Professionals Training ships an update every 3 weeks, CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
