# MSB Docs vs Microsoft Planner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MSB Docs at 100% against Microsoft Planner's 29%. MSB Docs also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15 vs 17.0). Microsoft Planner's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MSB Docs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Planner has 13K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of MSB Docs's written reviews are positive against 29% of Microsoft Planner's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
