# HYU vs VMS

The clearest difference is update cadence: VMS at every 3 months against HYU's every 11 months. VMS also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HYU ships an update every 11 months, VMS every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
