# Blueground vs PetRecs

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Blueground at none against PetRecs's 1. Blueground also leads on ratings volume (4.1K vs 2). PetRecs's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PetRecs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Blueground asks for nothing beyond the download.

PetRecs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blueground has 4.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Blueground ships an update weekly, PetRecs every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
