# MWeb vs OctoNote

The clearest difference is rating: MWeb at 4.5 against OctoNote's 3.7. MWeb also leads on ratings volume (153 vs 10) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MWeb sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and OctoNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MWeb holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MWeb has 153 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of MWeb's written reviews are positive against 60% of OctoNote's.

MWeb ships an update every 3 weeks, OctoNote every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
