# Hornady Ballistics vs ECHO Command

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ECHO Command at 100% against Hornady Ballistics's 40%. ECHO Command also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Hornady Ballistics's advantage is ratings volume (43K vs 2) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hornady Ballistics sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. ECHO Command asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hornady Ballistics holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hornady Ballistics has 43K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Hornady Ballistics's written reviews are positive against 100% of ECHO Command's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hornady Ballistics ships an update every 5 weeks, ECHO Command every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
