# GradientDaze vs MetaSmile Face Scan

The clearest difference is update cadence: MetaSmile Face Scan at every 2 months against GradientDaze's every 5 months. GradientDaze's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GradientDaze ships an update every 5 months, MetaSmile Face Scan every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
