# Tippd vs SmoothSwing

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tippd at none against SmoothSwing's 1. Tippd also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). SmoothSwing's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmoothSwing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tippd asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tippd holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmoothSwing has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of Tippd's written reviews are positive against 50% of SmoothSwing's.

Tippd ships an update every 3 months, SmoothSwing monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
