# Learning Upgrade vs Pearson Practice English

The clearest difference is rating: Pearson Practice English at 4.6 against Learning Upgrade's 3.2. Pearson Practice English also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 24). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learning Upgrade sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Pearson Practice English asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pearson Practice English holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pearson Practice English has 2.2K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Learning Upgrade's written reviews are positive against 14% of Pearson Practice English's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learning Upgrade ships an update every 3 months, Pearson Practice English every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
