# Shearwater Cloud vs DiveStory+

The clearest difference is rating: Shearwater Cloud at 2.6 against DiveStory+'s 1.0. Shearwater Cloud also leads on ratings volume (104 vs 1). DiveStory+'s advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 26%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shearwater Cloud holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shearwater Cloud has 104 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Shearwater Cloud's written reviews are positive against 50% of DiveStory+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shearwater Cloud ships an update every 5 weeks, DiveStory+ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 8, 2026 respectively.
