# Text Vault vs ChatPrivate

The clearest difference is rating: Text Vault at 4.4 against ChatPrivate's 3.0. Text Vault also leads on ratings volume (23K vs 6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). ChatPrivate's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (95% vs 77%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Vault sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ChatPrivate sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $20.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Vault holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Vault has 23K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Text Vault's written reviews are positive against 95% of ChatPrivate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text Vault ships an update every 3 weeks, ChatPrivate every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
