# Text Vault vs Messages

The clearest difference is update cadence: Messages at daily against Text Vault's every 3 weeks. Text Vault's advantage is ratings volume (23K vs 428) and review sentiment (77% vs 57%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Vault sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Messages sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Messages holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Vault has 23K ratings behind it against 428, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Text Vault's written reviews are positive against 57% of Messages's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text Vault ships an update every 3 weeks, Messages daily. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
