# Chef Express vs Hg

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hg at every 2 weeks against Chef Express's every 10 months. Chef Express's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chef Express ships an update every 10 months, Hg every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
