# Use Before Flight vs ALPA

The clearest difference is rating: Use Before Flight at 4.0 against ALPA's 3.0. ALPA's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and review sentiment (50% vs 30%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Use Before Flight holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Use Before Flight's written reviews are positive against 50% of ALPA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Use Before Flight ships an update every 2 months, ALPA monthly. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
