# Function Calc vs Calculator Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Function Calc at 5.0 against Calculator Widget's 4.3. Function Calc also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Calculator Widget's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and ratings volume (15 vs 3). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Function Calc holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator Widget has 15 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Function Calc's written reviews are positive against 100% of Calculator Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Function Calc ships an update monthly, Calculator Widget every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and August 21, 2026 respectively.
