# Artivive vs Artsteps

The clearest difference is rating: Artsteps at 5.0 against Artivive's 4.1. Artsteps also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Artivive's advantage is review sentiment (59% vs 24%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Artivive sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $13.90 per month. Artsteps asks for nothing beyond the download.

Artsteps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Artivive has 235 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Artivive's written reviews are positive against 24% of Artsteps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Artivive ships an update weekly, Artsteps every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
