# Sherwin vs Cosmos Surfaces

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cosmos Surfaces at free against Sherwin's free with in-app purchases. Cosmos Surfaces also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13 vs 18.0). Sherwin's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cosmos Surfaces holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sherwin has 14K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sherwin ships an update fortnightly, Cosmos Surfaces monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
