# Sherwin vs Southern Utility

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Sherwin at 14K against Southern Utility's 15. Sherwin also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). Southern Utility's advantage is iOS requirement (16.2 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sherwin holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sherwin has 14K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sherwin ships an update fortnightly, Southern Utility every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
