# Boon vs Microsoft Designer

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Boon at 82K against Microsoft Designer's 557. Boon also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Boon sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Microsoft Designer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Boon holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boon has 82K ratings behind it against 557, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Boon's written reviews are positive against 76% of Microsoft Designer's.

Boon ships an update weekly, Microsoft Designer every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
