# PlaceRack vs iXnote

The clearest difference is update cadence: iXnote at every 11 days against PlaceRack's every 12 months. PlaceRack's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PlaceRack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and iXnote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlaceRack ships an update every 12 months, iXnote every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
