# MagicStrip vs Ehome Light

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ehome Light at fortnightly against MagicStrip's every 2 months. On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ehome Light holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 988 and 1.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of MagicStrip's written reviews are positive against 28% of Ehome Light's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MagicStrip ships an update every 2 months, Ehome Light fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
