# Bookcase! vs readme

The clearest difference is update cadence: readme at every 2 days against Bookcase!'s every 24 months. readme also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bookcase! ships an update every 24 months, readme every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
