# Garmin Golf vs GOLFTEC

The clearest difference is rating: Garmin Golf at 4.6 against GOLFTEC's 4.0. Garmin Golf also leads on ratings volume (7.3K vs 698) and chart position (#65 vs unranked). GOLFTEC's advantage is device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Garmin Golf sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and GOLFTEC sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Garmin Golf holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Golf has 7.3K ratings behind it against 698, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Garmin Golf's written reviews are positive against 52% of GOLFTEC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Garmin Golf ships an update every 6 weeks, GOLFTEC monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
