# Spirograph Maker vs Fractally

The clearest difference is ads: Fractally at none against Spirograph Maker's shown. Fractally also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 53%) and device support (4 vs 2). Spirograph Maker's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 25 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spirograph Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Fractally sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spirograph Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spirograph Maker has 88 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Spirograph Maker's written reviews are positive against 76% of Fractally's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spirograph Maker ships an update every 2 weeks, Fractally every 25 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
