# IVPN vs GhostGuard

The clearest difference is monetization model: IVPN at freemium against GhostGuard's subscription. GhostGuard's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and review sentiment (82% vs 55%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IVPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and GhostGuard sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
