# Niseko vs Imperial Palaces Guide

The clearest difference is rating: Niseko at 4.7 against Imperial Palaces Guide's 3.4. Niseko also leads on ratings volume (166 vs 14). Imperial Palaces Guide's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 25%) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Niseko holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Niseko has 166 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Niseko's written reviews are positive against 56% of Imperial Palaces Guide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Niseko ships an update every 3 months, Imperial Palaces Guide every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
