# Musicality Training vs MelodEar

The clearest difference is update cadence: Musicality Training at every 3 days against MelodEar's every 2 months. Musicality Training also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). MelodEar's advantage is ratings volume (69 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Musicality Training sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and MelodEar sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Musicality Training holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MelodEar has 69 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Musicality Training ships an update every 3 days, MelodEar every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
