# ControlMySpa vs Wave Spa

The clearest difference is rating: ControlMySpa at 3.9 against Wave Spa's 2.0. ControlMySpa also leads on ratings volume (493 vs 8) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Wave Spa's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 11%) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ControlMySpa holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ControlMySpa has 493 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of ControlMySpa's written reviews are positive against 39% of Wave Spa's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ControlMySpa ships an update every 5 weeks, Wave Spa every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
