# PinnAR vs AR

The clearest difference is rating: PinnAR at 4.4 against AR's 3.7. PinnAR also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months). AR's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 58%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PinnAR holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of PinnAR's written reviews are positive against 80% of AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PinnAR ships an update monthly, AR every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
