# Lecture Pro vs SoundNote

The clearest difference is rating: SoundNote at 4.7 against Lecture Pro's 3.5. SoundNote also leads on review sentiment (55% vs 20%) and ratings volume (633 vs 13). Lecture Pro's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lecture Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SoundNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SoundNote holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SoundNote has 633 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Lecture Pro's written reviews are positive against 55% of SoundNote's.
