# PetMeds vs PetLabCo.

The clearest difference is ratings volume: PetMeds at 14K against PetLabCo.'s 1.1K. PetMeds also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly) and iOS requirement (16 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PetMeds holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PetMeds has 14K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of PetMeds's written reviews are positive against 32% of PetLabCo.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PetMeds ships an update fortnightly, PetLabCo. monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
