# Focus Timer vs Pomodoro Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pomodoro Timer at free against Focus Timer's freemium. Pomodoro Timer also leads on ratings volume (52 vs 10) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Timer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Pomodoro Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Focus Timer against 4.9 for Pomodoro Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomodoro Timer has 52 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
