# ASL Sign Language vs ASL Study

The clearest difference is rating: ASL Study at 3.7 against ASL Sign Language's 3.2. ASL Study also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 30 months) and ratings volume (211 vs 40). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ASL Sign Language sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and ASL Study sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ASL Study holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ASL Study has 211 ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 42% and 43% positive.

ASL Sign Language ships an update every 30 months, ASL Study fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
