# Snackpass vs Spice Rack App

Snackpass and Spice Rack App both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Spice Rack App's written reviews are positive against 26% of Snackpass's. Spice Rack App also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Snackpass's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Snackpass against 4.9 for Spice Rack App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snackpass has 10K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 26% of Snackpass's written reviews are positive against 100% of Spice Rack App's.

Snackpass ships an update fortnightly, Spice Rack App every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
