# Markdown Maker vs Password PRO

Markdown Maker and Password PRO both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Password PRO's written reviews are positive against 45% of Markdown Maker's. Markdown Maker's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Markdown Maker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Password PRO sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Markdown Maker holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Markdown Maker's written reviews are positive against 100% of Password PRO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Markdown Maker ships an update every 2 weeks, Password PRO every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
