# Pocket Thesaurus vs Student Dictionary Premium

The clearest difference is rating: Pocket Thesaurus at 4.4 against Student Dictionary Premium's 1.0. Pocket Thesaurus also leads on ratings volume (577 vs 1). Student Dictionary Premium's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Thesaurus sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Student Dictionary Premium asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pocket Thesaurus holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Thesaurus has 577 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Pocket Thesaurus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Student Dictionary Premium's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
