# RBrowser vs Private Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Private Browser at free with in-app purchases against RBrowser's subscription. Private Browser also leads on ads (none vs shown). RBrowser's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (89% vs 68%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RBrowser sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per 7 days and Private Browser sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RBrowser holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RBrowser has 1.3K ratings behind it against 227, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of RBrowser's written reviews are positive against 68% of Private Browser's.

RBrowser ships an update every 2 weeks, Private Browser weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
