# Notepad vs Simple Notes

The clearest difference is ads: Simple Notes at none against Notepad's shown. Simple Notes also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (11 vs 3). Notepad's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Simple Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
