# Notepad vs Notebook

The clearest difference is ads: Notebook at none against Notepad's shown. Notepad's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notebook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad ships an update every 4 days, Notebook every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
